I am posting these on time this week, ho ho ho.

Screw the announcements, here's the WORD OF THE WEEK for the week of the 12th.

This week, a Japanese word that I truly love:

 ぶ           ころ

to beat to death; to kill in a violent, unclean manner
If I recall correctly, some Bleach fansubbers once translated 「お前を打っ殺す!」 as, "I'm gonna kill you dead!"
It amused the heck out of me.

一。The craft fair! It’s less than a month away! Starting today, we’ll be working on crafts on Mondays as well as Saturdays. Let’s all work together and make lots of cool stuff~!

二。A note about voting: One of the purposes of this club is to introduce people to new material that they may not normally see. And so, it is very important that everyone gets a chance to know what they are voting on. So please do SHUT UP DURING VOTING TIME! Give every show a fair chance! (And also, as more a guideline than an actual rule, try not to always vote for something mainstream that everyone has seen before; let’s watch something new and exciting!)

Don’t forget about our October Art Contest!
Draw like there is no tomorrow!

The deadline is Monday, November 2nd.

四。And now, without further ado, the Word of the Week:

This is relevant because the World Series is coming up and Big Windup! is out on DVD now.

Also~ This Friday we'll be watching the first episode of Ouran High School Host Club, so be sure to stop by~!

As the title says, go ahead and throw us a couple ideas! You can do it here or in our box at school.

Some ideas are activities for school, comments on recs, critiques on us (like we're doing something wrong and you don't like it), etc.

And it's all anonymous so be as harsh and silly as you wish!

Thank you guys so much for the recs!! [huggles for everyone!!]
You are still free to keep on reccomending __________ and I'll put it up on the list...

Now, here's a question, on organizing this. Do you want to me include mini reviews with each one? You guys are welcome to spazz out on them. If it's long, I (or you if you have livejournal account) can post to the community with the tag (____ rec). And then I can summarize them and put in on this list...

Also, do you want labels like comedy, romance, yaoi, horror, bloody, etc? Just as a warning?

For Anime/Manga:
Anime only (?) and 6 episodes long!

It's countries as people and  history is never as amusing as this. The fandom is amazing and there's super good goodies... Link: http://community.livejournal.com/mcq_animebu/2939.html#cutid1

Manga continues further than anime and has more plot!!

Tsubasa Chronicle

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
It's a mecha anime but it's more than that and it's fantastic!

Ouran High School Host Club
Anime is superb as it's hilarious and so awesome, but the manga continues on with the romance area and it's so sweet and good!! It's pretty funny too!!

For Music:
Bump of Chicken
Vocaloid Songs

For Drama:

Obligatory Introduction Post for the new year!

Hellos you all!

Welcome to the Asian Media Club. We're a pretty relaxed club where our only goal is really to enjoy ourselves during lunch. We meet up each Monday and Friday in Room 115.

Every Friday, we'll be watching an anime/movie you guys have voted on.

On Mondays..., it varies greatly. We're thinking about showing some fantastic manga/anime/band/drama/etc. Feel free to rec them to us on this post: http://community.livejournal.com/mcq_animebu/2550.html

If there's anything you'll like us to do, feel free to suggest it here:

This is our website for now and it can easily be browsed by the tags!
